Green Bean Porridge Recipe


This is our very own green bean porridge recipe and it is a filling meal while remaining healthy. This recipe requires you to soak the green beans overnight but despite the time required, it is very easy to cook and taste great! The preparation takes about 5 minutes and another 45 minutes cooking time.


  • 200 gr of green beans (soak in water for one night)
  • 200 gr finely graded palm sugar (substitute with Muscavado sugar or Brown Sugar)
  • 100 ml coconut milk
  • 100 grams of glutinous rice flour (optional)

The Recipe

How to Make Green Bean Porridge:

  1. First you have to soak the green peas for one night, it would make them tender when eaten.
  2. After immersion for one night, put the green beans into boiling water.
  3. Add the finely chopped palm sugar into the green bean mixture along with coconut milk and the glutinous rice flour (if necessary).
  4. Boil on med-high for 45 minutes and  it’s ready to serve.

Best served with bread mixed inside the porridge.
